ABOUT Christine Stevens
I am an artist and Gestalt Psychotherapist (I have a PhD in social science and have been a mental health social worker) I am interested in the interdisciplinary dialogue between visual arts and mental health.
I work in various media including video, clay, drawing and print. As an artist, I am interested in making as a process which engages us with the material world and makes us more aware of ourselves in the process.
As a psychotherapist, I have a small private practice and work internationally as a trainer. I am the Editor of the British Gestalt Journal. I have a research interest in the use of creative methods in psychotherapy.
I have spent many years working as a Gestalt Psychotherapist and exploring the connections between mental health and visual arts. In 2012 I took a degree in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University and graduated with a first class honours in 2014.
In the few months since my graduation I have been awarded three residencies and exhibitions.
